I would like to express my distress at the news of the death of Mr. S.P. Thamilselvan, the political leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) on November 2, 2007. He expressed thanks to Canadians for their magnanimous generosity in a time of great need. He said there “is a thread of hope” for building mutual trust in the nation, as Singhalese and Tamils work together in rescue and relief efforts.
